Cunard’s Queen Anne Returns to Liverpool for Reds’ Title Parade and 185th Anniversary

Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne, will come back to its “spiritual home” on the same day as Liverpool FC’s big parade.

Many Liverpool fans will come to the city to celebrate the Reds’ 20th league title on Monday.

Queen Anne will arrive at the River Mersey at 12:00 BST on Monday. This will start Cunard’s party for the 185th anniversary of its first trip across the Atlantic. That first trip left from Liverpool in 1840.

Cunard said the ship will be a “great background” for the parade when the Reds’ bus gets to the Liverpool waterfront.

This is the first time Queen Anne has come back to Liverpool since her naming event at Pier Head in June.

The big cruise ship holds 3,000 guests and has 14 decks. It will pass these places as it goes to the Liverpool cruise port at 12:00:

  • Mersey Bar: 09:15

  • Formby: 09:45

  • Crosby: 10:15

  • New Brighton: 10:45

  • Seacombe: 11:00

The ship will stay in port overnight. On Tuesday, HRH The Princess Royal will visit. She will start the 185th anniversary party. The ship will leave at 23:45.

A photo show will open on Tuesday at the Royal Liver Building. It is about Cunard’s 185 years. The show is by Mary McCartney. She is a famous photographer and the daughter of Beatles star Paul McCartney.

The show, called Sea of Glamour, has 185 photos. They show Cunard’s history and its link to Liverpool.

Cunard calls Liverpool its “spiritual home.” The company was based there from 1840 to 1967.
