Charlie Woods Wins First AJGA Title at Team TaylorMade Invitational

A 16-year-old American won the Team TaylorMade Invitational in Bowling Green, Florida. He won by three shots.

Tiger Woods played in 13 AJGA events from 1991 to 1993. He won eight of them. Only Phil Mickelson has more wins.

In his fifth AJGA event, Charlie Woods started the last round one shot behind the leader, Luke Colton.

Charlie is ranked 606th by the AJGA. He made two bogeys and eight birdies. He shot a six-under-par 66 on the Black Course at Streamsong Resort. This gave him a final score of 15 under par.

Willie Gordon (65), Phillip Dunham (68), and Luke Colton (70) all tied for second place, three shots behind.

Before this win, Charlie’s best AJGA result was a tie for 25th place at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in March.

He has also played with his father, Tiger Woods, in the PNC Championship. This event features teams made of a major winner and a family member. They have played five times. In December, they came second for the second time.

Tiger Woods, who has won 15 majors, has not played since March. He had surgery for a torn Achilles tendon. He is not expected to play again this PGA season.
