Billy Joel Cancels All Tour Dates Due to Rare Brain Condition

Billy Joel has cancelled all his tour dates after doctors found he has a rare brain condition.

The 76-year-old singer is known for songs like Piano Man, Uptown Girl, and We Didn't Start the Fire. He is now getting very good medical care and is focusing on his health.

Billy has Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). This condition causes fluid to build up in the brain. It affects hearing, vision, and balance.

Doctors told him to stop performing. He has cancelled 17 shows planned for 2025 and 2026. These included big shows in Edinburgh and Liverpool next summer.

"I'm very sorry to let fans down. Thank you for understanding," Billy said.

His team said that his condition got worse after recent shows. It led to more trouble with his hearing, sight, and balance.

Billy is doing special physical therapy. He will not perform during this time so he can recover.

He is thankful for the care he is getting. He also thanks his fans for their support.

Billy hopes to return to the stage when he feels better.

NPH is a rare brain issue. It mostly affects people over 60. The NHS says doctors still don’t fully understand it.

Billy had also postponed shows in March. At that time, he said it was due to a “medical condition.” He needed time to heal after surgery and start therapy.

He has toured a lot in recent years. Last year, he finished a long run of monthly shows at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Billy has been nominated for 23 Grammy Awards and has won five. He joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
