Trump Administration Reviews $100M in Harvard Funding Amid Ongoing Disputes

The Trump administration wants to review the money it gives to Harvard University. It may stop or move some of that funding.

The federal government gives Harvard about $100 million through 30 contracts. The Government Services Agency (GSA) will ask each agency to list their contracts with Harvard. They will check if any can be cancelled or sent to other schools or groups.

The White House says Harvard may be breaking rules. A draft letter says the university has shown bias and antisemitism. This is one reason for the review.

The funding will not be cut right away. First, the government will look at how important the money is. If an agency thinks a grant is critical, it can ask to keep it.

Harvard has not yet made a public comment.

Hospitals connected to Harvard will not be affected by the cuts.

This fight between Harvard and the Trump administration has been going on for months. In April, the government froze $2.2 billion meant for Harvard. The university sued in response.

Last week, the administration also blocked Harvard from accepting international students and researchers. Harvard sued again, saying the action broke its rights under the U.S. Constitution.
