Chris Brown Released on Bail in UK After Alleged Nightclub Attack

US singer Chris Brown has been released on bail in London. He was charged with hurting someone in a nightclub in 2023.

Chris has not yet said if he is guilty or not. He is allowed to start his world tour next month as part of his bail deal.

Police arrested him last week. He was charged with causing serious harm. He is accused of hitting a music producer with a tequila bottle at Tape nightclub in Mayfair.

Chris is 36 years old. He did not go to court on Wednesday. The judge said he must pay £5 million as bail security.

This money is a promise to return to court. If he breaks the rules, he could lose the money.

Chris had been in jail since last Thursday. At first, the court said no to bail. But on Wednesday, the court said yes—if he pays £4 million now and £1 million more in a week.

His tour will start in Amsterdam on 8 June. He will also perform in Manchester, London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Glasgow in June and July.

Chris has won two Grammy Awards. He is known for songs like Loyal, Run It, and Under the Influence.

His next court date is 20 June. This is between shows in Cardiff and London.

The judge said he must give up his passport unless he is on tour. Other bail rules say he must:

  • Stay at an address the court knows

  • Not talk to the victim

  • Not go back to the Tape nightclub

  • Not apply for new travel papers

Chris will be in court next month with another man, Omololu Akinlolu. He is 38 and known as HoodyBaby. He is also from the US.
