Mohamed Salah Shines as Liverpool Celebrate Premier League Title

It had to be Mohamed Salah. With only six minutes left in the season, he scored an important goal against Crystal Palace. This goal helped Liverpool avoid losing in their last game.

Salah’s goal was his 29th in the league this season. Along with 18 assists, he matched the record for most goal contributions in a Premier League season. He now shares this record with Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.

He also won his fourth Golden Boot, tying the record held by Arsenal great Thierry Henry.

“Mo Salah has had a great season,” said former player Ellen White. “He scores a lot and also helps his teammates. Even with all the contract talk, he stayed focused and got better all season.”

Liverpool fans and players had a big party. This season, Liverpool won their 20th league title. That ties them with Manchester United for the most league wins.

Liverpool’s last big title party was in 1990. In 2020, they won the Premier League too, but fans could not celebrate together because of the COVID-19 rules.

On this sunny day, fans filled the streets around Anfield. Even fans from Crystal Palace, who had just won the FA Cup, joined the fun. Before the game, both teams showed respect for each other with guard of honors.

Liverpool legends and the former manager, Jurgen Klopp, were there too. Alan Hansen, a former Liverpool captain, gave the trophy to the team after the game.

Even when Crystal Palace scored first, Liverpool fans kept cheering with many songs. But when Salah scored, the stadium erupted with joy. The final whistle brought one of the loudest cheers for a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, said, “Our players and fans hate losing. This day means a lot to them because it has been 35 years since they could celebrate like this.”

A Special Farewell for Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold played his last game for Liverpool. Some fans had been unhappy with him before. But this time, the crowd cheered him warmly.

He played well in the second half. After the game, he was given the trophy. He got emotional and hugged his teammates.

“I felt very loved today,” Alexander-Arnold said. “I have played for 20 years here. This day will be the best day of my life.”

Manager Arne Slot praised him, saying he deserved the good farewell. Leaving the club after so long is hard, but the fans made it special.

Looking Ahead

Last summer, Liverpool did not sign many new players. But this summer will be different. With Alexander-Arnold leaving, the club will work hard to bring new talent.

They are already trying to sign Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz. Frimpong can play on the right side, and Wirtz is an attacking midfielder.

Slot said, “We want new players as soon as possible. The club has already started working behind the scenes.”

He hopes this win will make the team want to win even more next season. “It will be tough again, but these players know how to win.”
